Opt-In to Receive a Banned Books Week Kit
- By Maria Peroni
ABA member booksellers who did not receive a Banned Books Week kit last year can now opt-in using this form. Forms must be submitted by Thursday, June 13, in order to receive a kit. Stores that participated last year will automatically receive a kit unless they indicate that they would like to opt-out.
Banned Books Week 2019 will be held September 22-28. This year’s theme is “Censorship Leaves Us in the Dark. Keep the Light On!” ABA is offering Banned Books Week kits to help bookstores celebrate the freedom to read. These kits will include bookmarks, stickers, counter cards, caution tape, and more. Booksellers are encouraged to join the celebration by creating displays and events in their stores during Banned Books Week.
Each bookstore branch should fill out a form in order to receive a kit. Supplies are limited and will be fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis. The kits will be included in the August Monthly Box. If your store does not participate in the Monthly Box program, it will be shipped via USPS.
