All staff at members of the ABC Children’s Group at ABA — including bookstores, publishers, and individual members — are entitled to receive the monthly Flashlight e-newsletter, which is full of exciting, exclusive, members-only content.
Staff can e-mail ABC Group Manager Gen de Botton to receive the next issue of the Flashlight e-newsletter. There is no limit to the number of staff who can receive the newsletter; ABC Group contacts are asked to encourage their colleagues to sign up.
The ABC Group is dedicated to expanding the reach of children’s books. In addition to the e-newsletter, other member benefits include exclusive perks relating to Children’s Institute registration; a dedicated listserv; a free “Snack Nap Read” poster upon joining; and free admission to the Children’s Book Art Silent Auction at BookExpo.
The March issue of Flashlight will publish on Friday, March 29, and will feature tips on writing and submitting reviews for the Kids’ Indie Next List on Edelweiss and an essay about the importance of reading aloud.
Upcoming issues of Flashlight, which launched in July 2017, will feature details on publisher promotions, inspirational ideas for events, guest posts, social media shout-outs, and more. The newsletter arrives on the third Friday of each month.
ABA members can join the ABC Children’s Group now and sign up to receive the Flashlight newsletter. Bookstores, publishers, and indie bookstore supporters that are not ABA members can join ABA and select the opt-in option for the ABC Children’s Group membership on their application. Annual ABC Group dues are $50.
