Still Time to Send Nominations for ABA Board of Directors Candidates

The American Booksellers Association's Nominating Committee, chaired by Suzanne Staubach of UConn Co-op in Storrs, Connecticut, is seeking qualified candidates to serve on the ABA Board of Directors. Any ABA member may submit nominations, which must be received no later than Friday, December 17.

A candidate for the Board of Directors must be an ABA member who is the owner or employee of an independent bookstore with a storefront location that is operated according to sound business principles. Candidates must also have at least three years of recent experience as an owner or employee of a member company. In addition, it is desirable that candidates have at least two years of experience as an active volunteer in ABA or a regional or other constituency organization, or possess similar experience. The Nominating Committee asks that as much information as possible be provided about candidates, and that nominations be submitted as soon as possible but no later than December 17, 2004. All nominations will be held in the strictest confidence.
