World Book Night has announced the results of a survey sent to participants in this year’s April 23 giveaway event. Over a third of this year’s givers — almost 9,000 people — responded to the survey within five days and expressed overwhelming approval of the entire process.
The survey responders reviewed their experiences from the very beginning of the application process through World Book Night, and 98 percent of the respondents gave a good or excellent rating to the experience.
With the media reach for this year’s WBN far exceeding last year’s (by four times), WBN Executive Director Carl Lennertz said that 135 million people were in the market reach from all types of media, which is more than originally estimated.
Videos now up on WBN’s YouTube channel highlight title-specific photos and testimonials from givers. Lenny Kaye also wrote an official WBN song, which was recorded at an April 22 event. WBN plans to post a video giving thanks to the independent stores that also participated in the event.
