2016 ABC Best Books for Young Readers Catalog Cover Unveiled

The 2016 ABC Best Books for Young Readers catalog cover will feature art from Ada Twist, Scientist, written by Andrea Beaty and illustrated by David Roberts, to be published by Abrams Books for Young Readers on September 6.

The cover art, which was chosen by the ABC Advisory Council from publisher submissions, was announced on Wednesday, May 25, by the ABC Children’s Group at ABA.

This year’s catalog will feature more than 200 fully vetted titles for children and teens, recommended by ABC Group member booksellers.

Through June 30, booksellers with title recommendations are encouraged to submit them via the catalog’s online submission form or through Edelweiss, where submissions for the Kids’ Indie Next Lists will also be considered for the ABC catalog.

Titles must be published between January and October 2016. Holiday titles will not be included so stores can use the catalog year-round.

The 2016 catalog is scheduled to land in stores in early October. A catalog order form will be available to ABA member stores later this summer. All members of the ABC Children’s Group at ABA will automatically receive 250 catalogs with no imprinting.
