On March 16, ABA CEO Avin Mark Domnitz, CFO Eleanor Chang, and COO Oren Teicher announced in an e-mail to ABA staff that ABA had signed a lease for a new space in the Talleyrand Buildings at 200 White Plains Road in Tarrytown, New York. The office space is approximately a mile from the association's present location. The move, which will consolidate ABA staff into one space, will occur sometime after BookExpo America, in mid-June or early July.

The e-mail noted, "As you know, after ABA sold our existing property last year, we explored a wide variety of possible options as to where we should re-locate. We looked at and considered lots and lots of places -- including the possibility of remaining at 828 South Broadway -- but after much discussion and consultation with the entire senior staff and approval by the Board of Directors, we've concluded that new space at 200 White Plains Road works best for the association's current needs....

"[M]any of us will miss 828 South Broadway, but ... we strongly believe consolidating our staff into a contiguous space is the right thing to do. There was also widespread sentiment that, by moving to an entirely new space in a new location, it will be healthy and invigorating to the association."
