ABA Officially Closing White Plains Office

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

After 12 years at the White Plains office in New York, ABA will officially become a permanently remote organization when the lease ends on February 29, 2024.

ABA staff has already worked remotely since March 13, 2020, when the pandemic necessitated a temporary closing of the office. The office closing will have no impact on staff or members.

The official office closing will significantly decrease ABA’s carbon footprint and allow the organization to use the money formerly spent on occupancy to support member services and programming. (ABA did sublease much of the office space for 2023.)

ABA’s remote work these past few years has allowed the organization to better serve its members who are located across the country — ABA staff now work from 10 different states — and enabled ABA to hire the best people for each open position, regardless of where they live. This hiring flexibility has also helped make ABA a significantly more diverse organization.

As of February 1, 2024, ABA’s new mailing address is:

American Booksellers Association
600 Mamaroneck Ave., Suite 400
Harrison, NY 10528
