Edelweiss logoJust like Dear Abby, representatives from Above the Treeline’s Edelweiss+ will be on hand at Children’s Institute 2018 to answer difficult and pressing questions on best practices for the platform.

“The learning session at Children’s Institute is all about how to use Edelweiss+ to make your job easier,” said John Rubin, CEO of Above the Treeline. “This isn’t an introductory demonstration but really a hands-on, how-to workshop. We want to ensure that booksellers are getting the most out of it. At the end of the session, every person should leave with tactical tips to take back to their store.”

Booksellers who would like to participate in one of the two sessions offered are asked to pre-register for their selected day and include a question they would like to see addressed during the session. Space in each session is limited to 20 booksellers and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

“Ask an Edelweiss Expert” sessions will be held:

Rubin added, “We’ve gathered the most frequently asked questions from both bookseller users and our Edelweiss+ support team, but I’d love to incorporate attendee questions ahead of time as well. We’ll cover useful tips for booksellers, such as using saved filters and refinements, customizing your homepage, communicating with staff using Tags and notes, staying organized, orders, and more.”

Edelweiss+, powered by Above the Treeline, provides more than 100,000 book professionals a single source of information to sell, discover, and order new titles. The platform serves thousands of retail outlets, libraries, and publishing houses across the U.S. and Europe. Above the Treeline is a privately-owned company based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, founded in 2002 by John Rubin, the son of an indie bookseller and the grandson of a librarian.

The sixth annual ABC Children’s Institute will be held June 19–21 at the Sheraton New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana. Booksellers looking to attend are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Questions about the ABC Children’s Institute should be sent to [email protected].
