On December 2, the day commonly known as “Cyber Monday,” digital audiobook company Libro.fm is asking its bookseller partners to share the message of “Real People Monday,” a new retail holiday that encourages readers to shop at their local bookstore and purchase audiobooks through Libro.fm co-branded storefronts.
Taking place the day after Black Friday and Small Business Saturday weekend, Cyber Monday encourages online shopping, largely to the benefit of big companies. As part of the new Real People Monday, customers can take advantage of special audiobook offers from Libro.fm starting Sunday, December 1, at 6:00 a.m. PST. New Libro.fm members can get four audiobooks for the price of one when they use the code REALPEOPLE, which is equivalent to $14.99 for three audiobook credits, plus Circe by Madeline Miller, Indies Choice Audiobook of the Year.
In addition, all Libro.fm customers will have the chance to earn two free audiobooks for each friend who starts a membership using the Real People Monday offer through their unique referral link.
Another way booksellers can celebrate is by creating Real People Monday chalkboard art featuring their fellow bookselling colleagues. Booksellers can share their chalkboard photos on social media and include the tag @libro.fm to be featured on Libro.fm's social accounts, and bookstore supporters can use the hashtag #RealPeopleMonday to share why they love shopping at their local indie bookstore.
Booksellers can also download posters, online banner ads, and images for social media to celebrate Real People Monday. More details can be found via Libro.fm’s Real People Monday Bookseller Guide.
