Idea Exchange This Week

Every week dozens of booksellers seek and share advice and information about bookselling and the book industry on BookWeb's Idea Exchange Forums. Here, BTW presents a look at some of this week's topics -- with the hope that more booksellers will join in.

The Bookseller-to-Bookseller Forum has been very lively this week, with new threads about the Book Sense Gift Card program; a congratulations to BookPeople for being named PW's 2005 Bookseller of the Year; a warning regarding a Harry Potter e-book scam; a discussion of Harry Potter sidelines; an inquiry regarding an alternative to Cinderella; changes to Pleasant Company's customer service; an inquiry regarding maps; and the new 13-digit ISBN. In addition, booksellers have added responses to a number of older threads on the forum.

The Idea Exchange Forums are open to ABA bookstore and provisional members only. (Booksellers who do not already have a BookWeb Account will need to create one.) The greater the number of booksellers participating in the forums, the more useful they become as an educational tool for the whole independent bookselling community.
