Kobo Update

Later this week, Kobo pages on IndieCommerce websites are being updated with a simpler design and new banner images. Additionally, the eBooks search tab will be changed from “Kobo” to “eBooks.” For stores that create their own pages, the banner images have been added to the Retailer Support section of the Kobo DIY

New Feature Available: Conditional Attributes

The new IndieCommerce Conditional Attribute feature can be used to define dependency relationships between options and attributes for custom product classes. Dependent attributes will only be shown once the option on the parent attribute is selected.

Here is an example of how this feature might work on a store website: A customer buys a custom product to give as a gift and wants to include a gift message. On the custom product page, the customer is asked, “Is this a gift?” If “Yes” is selected, a message dialog box will open for the customer to enter the gift message. If “Yes” isn’t selected, the message dialog box will remain closed. Here is an example on the Book Culture website.

For more information on the Conditional Attributes feature, for answers to your questions, and to have IndieCommerce staff enable the feature on your website, e-mail [email protected].
