Booksellers, authors, publishers, distributors, and others with ties to the book industry have until January 8 to submit nominations for the 2018 Publishers Weekly Bookstore and Sales Rep of the Year awards.
The finalists will be named at the American Booksellers Association’s 13th annual Winter Institute, to be held January 22–25, 2018, in Memphis, Tennessee. The winning bookstore and sales representative will be featured in Publishers Weekly magazine and honored at a ceremony to be held in New York City in spring 2018.
Anyone with ties to the book industry, including authors, booksellers, publishers, and distributors, is invited to submit nominations to Judith Rosen at PWawards@publishersweekly.com by January 8; nominations or letters of recommendation received after that date will not be accepted.
Candidates for PW Bookstore of the Year must be an independently owned bricks-and-mortar bookstore in the U.S. that has been in operation for at least four years. Submissions should note what makes the bookstore special and should include the name, industry affiliation, and contact information of the person submitting the nomination.
Candidates for PW Sales Rep of the Year may be telephone, house, or independent sales representatives. Submissions should include a story or example of the rep’s commitment to excellence, as well as the nominator’s contact information, including their name and industry affiliation.
Letters of nomination will be read by PW’s judges to determine the winners in each category.
Self-nominations and nominations from family members will not be accepted. Bookstores and sales reps can only win the award once.
