New Gift Certificate Design Features Artwork From A Child of Books

The American Booksellers Association has teamed up with Candlewick Press to roll out a new gift certificate design that features artwork from the picture book A Child of Books by Oliver Jeffers and Sam Winston.

A Child of Books, published by Candlewick in September and named the #1 Autumn Kids’ Indie Next List Pick by booksellers, encapsulates the magic of reading and sharing stories through the tale of a little girl who sails her raft across a sea of words and goes on a fantastical journey.

“Our #1 Autumn Kids’ Indie Next list title is the perfect gift for book lovers young and old,” said Elise Supovitz, executive director of independent retail and Canadian sales for Candlewick Press. “Candlewick is thrilled to partner with the ABA to adapt the cover image with Oliver Jeffers’ distinctive handlettering to create materials for the holidays and beyond.”

The newly designed gift certificate, available in BookWeb’s DIY Designs & Downloads, features the message “Books: The perfect gift.” The gift certificate is 5"x7" and folds like a greeting card; the interior uses the same text as the classic Mary Engelbreit gift cards currently available to booksellers.

Also in the DIY are vertical and horizontal web banners, posters, a bookmark, and social media images for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, all featuring artwork from A Child of Books and the tagline “Books: The perfect gift.”
