November 1 Deadline to Nominate Booksellers for James Patterson’s Holiday Bonuses

Earlier this month, author James Patterson announced his plan to award $250,000 in holiday bonuses to independent bookstore employees. Anyone can nominate a bookstore employee for a bonus — store owners, managers, fellow booksellers, publishing professionals, and shoppers — but applications are due November 1.

Those nominating a bookseller will need to answer the question, “Why does this bookseller deserve a holiday bonus?”

Bonuses of $1,000 to $5,000 will be awarded to individual booksellers at ABA member stores, and the full list of winners will be announced in December. Patterson will personally select the bookstore employees to receive these bonuses.

Visit www.bookweb.org/bonus for details and to nominate a bookstore employee for a holiday bonus.

Proceeds from the newly launched children’s imprint Jimmy Patterson Books are being used to fund pro-reading initiatives, including the holiday bonus program.
