Booksellers who are interested in attending either the IndieCommerce Institute (ICI)  to be held on September 19 in New Orleans or on October 2 in San Francisco still have time to register.

Registration has been extended to September 12 for the ICI at the Sheraton New Orleans in conjunction with the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance trade show and to September 24 for the ICI at San Francisco’s Best Western Plus Grosvenor Hotel in conjunction with the Northern California Independent Booksellers Association show.

Each ICI will feature a Main Session addressing the needs of most users and an Advanced Seminar appropriate to very experienced users, as well as moderated panel discussions, a Kobo update, and lunch.

The nonrefundable registration fee is $120 for the Main Session and $150 for the Advanced Seminar. Attendance at each institute is capped at 75 participants, and registration is limited to three booksellers per company.

The Main Session will include a new feature overview; programming on order processing, custom order status, custom products, and report generation through views; and design tips to improve a store’s site.

The Advanced Seminar is intended to facilitate a group discussion among advanced users about their work supporting their store sites. Enrollment in the seminar is limited to one attendee per store. IndieCommerce staff will evaluate information provided by each registrant and will assign Advanced Seminar participants.

The ICI day will begin and end with plenary sessions for all attendees, and moderated panel discussions will look at topics ranging from staffing requirements and workflows to best practices for promoting an e-commerce website.

IndieCommerce staff will also be available the day before each institute for individualized one-on-one meetings, and the evening before the start of each ICI will feature an opening reception.

Booksellers with questions regarding ICI programming should contact ABA Member Technology Director Neil Strandberg.
