Sign Up Now for Pittsburgh Bookstore Tours at Children’s Institute

Booksellers and publishers attending the seventh Children’s Institute will have the chance to explore the independent bookstores of Pittsburgh with two bookstore tours taking place on Wednesday, June 26: a full-day tour through the city's downtown area and a half-day tour of the city's northern reaches.

The 2019 Children's Institute will be held Wednesday, June 26, through Friday, June 28, 2019, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Pittsburgh-Green Tree. Both booksellers and publishers are invited to sign up for the tours on the Institute's first day, each of which have a number of spots left. The tours are as follows:

Downtown Pittsburgh Full-day Bookstore Tour on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.  

The Downtown Pittsburgh Full-day Bookstore Tour, which costs $30 per person, will depart from the DoubleTree Hotel lobby at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, and will stop at five stores: Mystery Lovers Bookshop, Spark Books, City of Asylum, White Whale Bookstore, and Classic Lines Bookstore. North Pittsburgh Half-day Bookstore Tour on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.

The North Pittsburgh Half-day Bookstore Tour, which costs $20 per person, departs from the DoubleTree Hotel lobby at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, and will stop at three stores: Riverstone Books, The Tiny Bookstore, and Penguin Bookshop. Boarding begins 15 minutes prior to departure; the tour will return to the hotel by 4:15 p.m. Register for the North Pittsburgh half-day bookstore tour here.

Registration will close when the tours reach capacity; space is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
