Summer/Fall 2018 Indies Introduce Titles Announced, Sign-up Opens
Publishers are once again offering specials on 10 adult titles and 10 children’s titles chosen by panels of ABA member booksellers from across the U.S. as the top debuts of the upcoming publishing season.
The Summer/Fall 2018 Indies Introduce program features titles for adults and for middle grade and young adult readers, all publishing between June and November 2018.
Nancy Baenen of Arcadia Books in Spring Green, Wisconsin, served on the bookseller panel that selected the 10 children’s debuts. “Being part of the Indies Introduce panel was a really wonderful experience as both a bookseller and the children’s book buyer for our store,” said Baenen. “I really enjoyed hearing the other panelists’ opinions, especially the impassioned pleas for a title they’d ‘die on the hill’ for. It is a time commitment, but your reward is learning about another facet of the publishing world and the opportunity to get the best books into the hands of readers.”
For stores that have taken part in past Indies Introduce promotions, there’s no need to sign up to take advantage of publishers’ Summer/Fall offers; however, stores that are new to Indies Introduce must complete the Indies Introduce sign-up form by June 8 in order to participate in the program.
To access the list of titles with bookseller blurbs and full details on publishers’ offers, booksellers will need a BookWeb.org login name and password (e-mail [email protected] for login information). The Indies Introduce logo is available for download in BookWeb’s DIY and sell sheets will be included in the June Red Box mailing.
