This weekend, the American Booksellers Association is heading to the Southern California Independent Booksellers Association (SCIBA) trade show.
The SCIBA trade show takes place Saturday, October 20 – Sunday, October 21, 2018, at the Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel, located at 303 East Valley Boulevard in San Gabriel, California. Booksellers can visit the ABA booth to meet ABA CEO Oren Teicher, Senior Program Officer Joy Dallanegra-Sanger, and Member Relationship Manager Daniel O’Brien.
At all of this fall’s trade shows, ABA is presenting the education session “Maximizing Pre-Order Campaigns,” during which booksellers will discover ways to successfully promote and sell pre-orders to become an integral partner to publishers and authors, including new methods developed and tested by ABA’s Pre-Orders Task Force of indie stores. The session is open to both ABA members and nonmembers, and the PowerPoint presentation from the session will be posted on BookWeb at the culmination of the trade shows for all members to access.
The Maximizing Pre-Order Campaigns education session will take place at SCIBA on Sunday, October 21, at 10:30 a.m. in Grand Imperial South at the Sheraton.
In addition, ABA members have a chance to win a scholarship for Winter Institute 2019 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, by leaving a business card at the ABA booth. One winner will be randomly selected at the end of the trade show season.
