Over the past few months, the ABA E-Commerce Solution has been undergoing a major overhaul. The site is migrating to the open-source platform Drupal, which will provide users with new and improved administrative tools, better performance and reliability, and a shorter path to new features and functionality. The new open-source platform is scheduled for fall 2008 release.

For booksellers seeking more information about the new platform, ABA will be holding E-Commerce Solution Users Group sessions at every regional trade show this fall to discuss the migration, and to show what the new system looks like from the back- and front-end. Participants in the users group will have an opportunity to meet with and provide feedback to ABA's E-Commerce staff. (Non-participants are also welcome to attend.)

In September, E-Commerce staff will begin migrating about 12 stores a week to the Drupal platform. Booksellers will be contacted prior to their scheduled migration.

Questions about the migration should be addressed to ABA E-Commerce Solution Director Ricky Leung at [email protected].
