The American Booksellers Association, in conjunction with the Institute for Local Self-Reliance, is asking bookstore members to take a few moments now to complete an Independent Business Holiday Sales Trends Survey.

Information compiled from responses to the survey's six simple questions will help ABA and the other participating organizations (all representing the interests of independent businesses) to better serve members' needs and plan future joint initiatives.

This is the second year the groups are conducting the holiday survey. "We had a very high response rate from booksellers last year," said ABA COO Oren Teicher. "And we're hopeful that they will participate this year. The survey's results were very helpful in making the case for the importance and viability of locally owned businesses. And the more responses we receive the more accurate and useful this survey will be."

Responses to the survey are confidential and no business or personal names are requested. The participating associations will view only aggregate data and not individual responses.

Other groups participating in the survey include the American Independent Business Alliance, the American Specialty Toy Retailers Association, the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies, and the National Bicycle Dealers Association.

Complete the Independent Business Holiday Sales Trends Survey now. All responses are needed by Tuesday, January 13.
