Here’s what’s happening in the world of indie bookstores this week:

Angela Redden has taken over as owner of Reading Rock Books in Dickson, Tennessee. In addition to her plans to remodel the space, she also intends to move the store’s focus toward youth education.

Broche Fabian’s plans to open the River Dog Book Company bookmobile in River Dog Book Company to come to Beaver Dam, WisconsinBeaver Dam, Wisconsin, this spring are underway. Fabian is also planning to work with Mayor Becky Glewen and Downtown Beaver Dam Inc. to look for a brick-and-mortar space.

The Homer Bookstore in Homer, Alaska, celebrated its 40th anniversary last week.

Tom Braun, co-owner of Wild Rumpus bookstore in Minneapolis, Minnesota, died last week.

Hoodline named Blue Manatee and Joseph-Beth Booksellers among the best bookstores in Cincinnati.

Porter Square Books in Cambridge, Massachusetts, announced the winners of its 2019 Writers in Residence program.
