Book Sense Welcomes Two New Publisher Partners

The Book Sense family of Publisher Partners continues to grow with the addition of two new Partners, just in time for BEA: Continuum International and Hyperion Books for Children.

Continuum International is a medium-sized, independent publisher with offices in New York City and London. Continuum has been an imprint in the United States for more than forty years and has a strong reputation as one of the first publishers of the work of the Frankfurt School, titles by important thinkers such as Paolo Freire and Erich Fromm, and volumes in the field of feminist theology.

In recent years, Continuum’s publishing program has broadened considerably. It is now a major publisher in the performing arts, music, jazz, popular culture, politics and social issues, and religion, both academic and popular spirituality. Continuum also publishes across a range of academic subjects, including history, linguistics, computer studies, the social sciences, and a notable new list in Continental philosophy.

Forthcoming highlights include A Jazz Odyssey: The Life of Oscar Peterson (the famed jazz pianist’s autobiography); Using the Force: Creativity, Community, and Star Wars Fans; and Alan Ayckbourn: Grinning at the Edge. Hyperion Books for Children was launched in 1991 with the mission of building a home for authors and illustrators that fosters creativity. Over the years, Hyperion Books for Children has grown to include several imprints, including the highly regarded Michael di Capua Books, Jump at the Sun, celebrating the African-American experience and culture, and Volo, which publishes original paperback books and series.
