Kobo is extending its BookExpo America show special on eReading devices to June 30 for all ABA member stores. Bookstores not currently enrolled in the Kobo Device Program that sign up by the end of this month will qualify for a free demo unit for each type of Kobo device ordered. For stores currently participating in the program, Kobo will provide a fee demo unit on a new Kobo product order. Full details of the Kobo BEA Offer are available here.

In a special Father’s Day promotion that runs from June 4 through June 16, customers purchasing a Kobo Arc will receive a free sleepcover, a $50 value. Web banners to promote this special are available in BookWeb’s Kobo Designs & Downloads.

For graduation season, from June 7 through July 5, Workman is offering an exclusive Kobo eBook edition of Jessica’s Hagy’s How to Be Interesting, with “How to Be Interesting After You Graduate: A Digital Short” as an extra chapter at the end. Customers who purchase a Kobo eReader at an ABA member store from June 7 to July 5 will automatically receive a free copy in their device library. At stores selling only eBooks, customers can either purchase the special edition of How to Be Interesting for themselves or give the eBook as a gift to someone else with just the click of a button. Kobo device selling stores should check ABA’s June Red Box for promotional materials, including gift cards to include with the purchase and posters for in-store display. As with other Kobo/Workman promotions, there are two sets of materials available in Designs & Downloads — one set for device-selling stores to promote the free eBook with the purchase of a device; the other for stores selling eBooks only that promotes how easy it is to eGift.

And remember, with a campaign promoting Kobo eReaders and eBooks on NPR stations across the country beginning this week and continuing through the end of the year, all stores participating in the ABA/Kobo partnership should make use of the NPR-specific promotional materials in Designs & Downloads  to both welcome the public to their stores and websites and to link them to information about your ability to sell e-reading devices and digital content.
