Book Sense selections were again the feature of a USA Today "Snapshot" when the May 29 edition of the national newspaper featured five top selections of the Book Sense Summer 2002 Paperback 76.

The featured spot -- on the first page of the Life section under the headline "Independents like these paperbacks"-- also noted that the complete list and recommendations were available on BookSense.com. (For the full list, click here. The list was also mailed to stores in the May white box, which most stores should receive mid-week next week.)

The titles mentioned in USA Today were:

  • THE MIRACLE LIFE OF EDGAR MINT, by Brady Udall (Vintage);
  • THE NEAL POLLACK ANTHOLOGY OF AMERICAN LITERATURE, by Neal Pollack (Perennial);
  • SEABISCUIT, by Laura Hillenbrand (Ballantine);
  • THE PRIZE WINNER OF DEFIANCE, OHIO: How My Mother Raised 10 Kids on 25 Words or Less, by Terry Ryan (Touchstone); and
  • EMPIRE FALLS, by Richard Russo (Vintage)

With a circulation of approximately 2.3 million, USA Today is the nation's largest-selling daily newspaper.
