The ABA E-Commerce Solution has announced that three beta-testing stores are now live on the new Drupal platform, and the migration of all participating members will begin sometime in January 2009.

The three stores with live Drupal sites are Vroman's Bookstore in Pasadena, California; Literary Bookpost in Salisbury, North Carolina; and RiverRead Books in Binghamton, New York.

"We're very pleased to announce that three of our beta stores have now gone live," said Ricky Leung, director of ABA's E-Commerce Solution. "These three sites provide a clear example of the benefits the new system provides, and show how booksellers can create websites that are unique, informational, and user-friendly. Drupal provides users much more granular control over their own websites."

Over the last year, the ABA E-Commerce Solution has been migrating to Drupal, a content management system that provides more robust administrative tools, greater system stability, and the ability to roll out new features more quickly.

Leung stressed that any ABA E-Commerce store interested in participating in the beta program should contact Scott Nafz at (800) 637-0037, ext. 6654. A demo store is set up at cascade.indiebound.com, where "booksellers can see how easy it is to change the color scheme and layout by choosing a theme using the drop down menu on the homepage," Leung said.

Questions about the migration should be addressed to Leung at [email protected].
