Sandy Koufax: A Lefty's Legacy, by Jane Leavy (HarperCollins), was selected on Thursday, February 13, as the next title to be read by the USA Today book club.

The book, which was included in the Book Sense Biography and Memoir Category Bestseller List in December, tells the story of legendary Dodgers pitcher Sandy Koufax, one the best to play the game of baseball.

Regarding Sandy Koufax: A Lefty's Legacy, columnist Dave Barry commented, "Jane Leavy, a terrific reporter and writer, has produced a richly detailed and riveting book about the most interesting, and elusive, great athlete America has ever produced. It's also a fascinating look at an era when baseball changed from a game to an industry, and post-war America started the wild roller-coaster ride that was the '60s. You don't need to be a sports fan to be swept up by this marvelous story."

Leavy will chat online with readers on February 20 and March 6, at noon, EST, 9 a.m. PST. Readers may pose questions now at http://talk.usatoday.com.
