Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

Here’s the latest on registration for Winter Institute 11’s bookstore tours, Advanced Learning Education sessions, the Après Institute Ski Trip, and more.

  • Registration for Winter Institute 11’s four Advanced Learning Education sessions for owners and managers, which opened last week, will remain open until Monday, December 7. The American Booksellers Association will aim to accommodate all stores that register with at least one ALE placement, but space for each session is limited. Interested booksellers are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Assignments will be e-mailed the week of January 11, 2016. Register for an Advanced Learning Education session now.

  • The full-day tour of Denver-area bookstores is now sold out; however, there is still space on the half-day tour for interested booksellers and international guests.

The half-day tour departs from the Wi11 host hotel, the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, at 12:15 p.m. on January 23 and includes stops at HearthFire Books & Treats in Evergreen, Tattered Cover at Aspen Grove, and The Bookies Bookstore. Both the full- and half-day tours will end at 5:30 p.m. at the Tattered Cover on Colfax Avenue for the Wi11 Opening Reception. Registration for the half-day tour will close when it reaches capacity or by January 6, whichever comes first. Register for the half-day tour now.

  • The Après Institute Ski Trip is on, and the reservation period has been extended. The all-day excursion to the Copper Mountain resort on Wednesday, January 27, costs $130 per person and includes lift tickets and round-trip bus transportation from the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel. An equipment rental discount code and rental instructions will be provided to confirmed guests via e-mail prior to the trip. Meals are not included. Booksellers, publishers, and their families and friends who are interested in joining their fellow skiers can reserve their place on the bus now.

  • And, remember, if your plans to attend Wi11 have changed, please contact ABA as soon as possible, so booksellers who have been waitlisted can fill your spot. To cancel reservations at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, contact ABA Meetings & Planning Officer Jill Perlstein directly.
