Wi6’s Indie Store Tour Limited to 25 Booksellers

Booksellers who are registered for ABA’s January 19 –21, 2011 Winter Institute, sponsored by the Ingram Content Group, are invited to sign up now for a merchandising tour of Washington, D.C.’s Revolution Cycles. Space on the tour is limited to 25 booksellers.

The Indie Store tour will take place on Thursday, January 20, from 2:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Sometime in January, prior to the Winter Institute, booksellers who have registered for the tour will be invited to take part in a webinar looking at the future of retail and focusing on what to look for on the tour.

On January 20, booksellers will gather for the merchandising tour at 2:30 at the Wi6 host hotel, the Crystal Gateway Marriott, and then travel to the Revolution Cycles City Hub in Crystal City, where the company’s CEO, Mike Hamannwright, will lead the tour and talk about the merchandising concepts that have helped this indie business grow from one store in 1997 to five locations today.

Following the tour, booksellers will meet in the store event space for a debriefing and a discussion of practical applications.

The tour is limited to one bookseller per ABA member store. Spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
