ABA Needs to Know If You No Longer Need Your Reservations

The American Booksellers Association reminds anyone whose Winter Institute plans have changed to notify ABA staff as soon as possible.

Booksellers are on waiting lists for Wi9 registration and for reservations at the host hotel, the Westin Seattle, which is now completely sold out. If you’re no longer planning to attend the institute and/or will not need your Westin hotel reservation, ABA needs to know.

When cancellations are received, ABA will contact booksellers on the lists on a first-come, first-served basis.

Booksellers who will be attending Wi9 are invited to make appointments to meet with representatives of ABA’s affiliated business solution partners, POS vendors, and other service providers who will be taking part in the Consultation Station, on Thursday, January 23, from 10:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., and on Friday, January 24, from 10:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The list of participating vendors and contact information is available here.

Those who are in Seattle early can attend the Seattle Gift Show free of charge. The event, at the Washington State Convention Center from Saturday, January 18, through Tuesday, January 21, will feature more than 10,000 innovative products. To receive a complimentary admission and a lunch voucher, Winter Institute registrants should send an e-mail to the show’s Jhana Jordan with their bookstore name and the names of each staff member who would like to attend. Those who pre-register will receive a full-color product preview guide. For more information, visit the Seattle Gift Show website.
