Registration for ABA’s 12th annual Winter Institute is set to open next Tuesday, September 13. Registration and hotel reservations are expected to sell out quickly, so booksellers are strongly encouraged to register and book a room as soon as possible.

At the first two shows of the fall season, SIBA and NEIBA, booksellers are invited to stop by the ABA booth to learn about upcoming initiatives, to attend an ABA education session, and to meet one-on-one with an IndieCommerce representative.

The American Booksellers Association today revealed the dates and location for its fifth ABC Children’s Institute.

ABA is offering the full-day workshop “Principles of Bookstore Finance” on Saturday, October 15, in Baltimore and on Wednesday, October 26, in San Francisco, prior to the New Atlantic and Northern California independent booksellers association trade shows, respectively.

As development continues on Winter Institute 12’s educational programming, booksellers who have expertise related to specific session topics are asked to contact ABA.

Booksellers who are thinking about their travel plans to Winter Institute 12 should be aware that before the event officially kicks off with an opening reception on Friday evening, January 27, there will be much happening earlier in the day.

ABA will be presenting a full-day workshop on the principles of finance, led by Robert Sindelar, managing partner of Third Place Books, and Robyn DesHotel, ABA's chief financial officer, just prior to the NAIBA and NCIBA fall trade shows.

Booksellers looking to further their understanding of bookstore financial operations can now register for ABA’s Principles of Bookstore Finance Workshop, which will take place just ahead of the NAIBA and NCIBA fall trade shows.
