Booksellers who don’t want to miss the 2016 ABC Children’s Institute’s six keynote and plenary talks, 10 brand-new education sessions, 30-plus authors, rep picks speed dating, and more should register as soon as possible.

ABA members and non-members alike are invited to take part in Booksellers Forums to be held next week in Naperville, Illinois; Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Boston, Massachusetts.

ABA is inviting independent booksellers — ABA members and non-members alike — to Spring Forums to be held in mid-March in the Great Lakes, Midwest, and New England regions.

Planning has begun for an IndieCommerce Institute to be held in Chicago in May, in conjunction with BEA 2016. The IndieCommerce team is asking all program participants to complete a brief survey that will help the team develop a valuable educational experience.

To date, 32 children’s and young adult authors are scheduled to meet booksellers and autograph their latest titles at ABA’s fourth ABC Children’s Institute Author Reception. More authors are being added on an ongoing basis.

Registration for ABA’s fourth ABC Children’s Institute is now open to booksellers at all ABA member stores. The event will be held from June 21 to 23 at the Wyndham Orlando Resort International in Orlando, Florida.

Booksellers are invited to join ABA CEO Oren Teicher and Senior Program Officer Joy Dallanegra-Sanger at a Spring Forum program in Atlanta, Georgia, on Tuesday, March 1, in conjunction with the SIBA in the Springtime! Day of Education at GABBS.

ABA has revealed the topics for nine breakout sessions to be presented in three tracks at the 2016 ABC Children’s Institute, to be held from June 21 to 23 in Orlando, Florida.

In response to booksellers’ feedback at Winter Institute 11, ABA’s Spring Forums will now feature an education session based on the new Civic Economics study “Amazon and Empty Storefronts: The Fiscal and Land Use Impact of Online Retail.”

Award-winning authors Julia Alvarez, Dave Barry, and Kate DiCamillo will be the keynote speakers at the 2016 ABC Children’s Institute, to be held June 21– 23, at the Wyndham Orlando Resort International in Orlando, Florida.

At Winter Institute 11, a panel of booksellers discussed strategies for connecting with Title I coordinators in their local schools and making use of federal funding to provide a robust education for underserved students.
