All Winter Institute 11 bookseller registrants should have received an e-mail earlier today, January 13, with their assignments for the event’s Bookseller Discussion Groups, Rep Picks Lunch seating, and Publisher Focus Groups.

Winter Institute 2016 will welcome more than 90 authors and illustrators from publishers large and small at author receptions on Monday, January 25, and Tuesday, January 26.

For the second consecutive year, ABA is inviting booksellers at the Winter Institute to take part in an open discussion about industry and association issues of concern to them.

The first-ever Winter Institute app for iPhone, iPad, or Android went live on January 6. A link tot the app, which is designed to enhance their experience at this month’s ABA education event in Denver, was sent in an e-mail to all registrants.

Brand-building expert Martin Lindstrom will kick off Winter Institute 11’s educational programming on January 24 with a breakfast keynote examining how ABA members can reinvigorate their businesses. 

IndieCommerce users who are interested in meeting one-on-one with a member of the IndieCommerce team at Wi11 can sign up now and indicate their preferred meeting times via a form on BookWeb.

Just a few spaces are open for booksellers and international guests who are interested in Winter Institute 11’s half-day tour of Denver-area bookstores.

All Winter Institute registrants — booksellers, publishers, and guests — are encouraged to bring a copy of their backlist favorite to swap with a colleague at the Backlist Book Swap, to be held on Saturday night, January 23. Those planning to participate are also asked to share their favorite now via a form on BookWeb.

The first-ever Winter Institute app for iPhone, iPad, or Android puts all of the details about next week’s education event in Denver at attendees’ fingertips, while allowing users to customize their schedules, share messages, and more.

The Consultation Station will provide Winter Institute attendees with the opportunity to meet with representatives from ABA’s affiliated business solution partners, POS vendors, and other service providers.

Registrants for next month’s Winter Institute in Denver should watch for the unveiling of the first-ever Winter Institute app, coming in early January.

Programming for children’s booksellers at the upcoming Winter Institute includes four sessions presented by the ABC Children’s Group at ABA, plus opportunities to learn about new children’s, middle grade, and young adult books and authors.
